Well we are off tomorrow...leaving for the annual piano pedagogy symposium presented through CNCM. This year's event takes place in Yorkton, SK-- so get ready to follow our adventures through the prairies! My friend/colleague Irene and I will be joining a group of other teachers and composers to embark on this adventure together.
Summer Sizzle celebrates and promotes Canadian music (How great is that?). Over 200 participants including composers, students, teachers and parents from all across Canada will come together during these two days in August. There will be workshops, the launch of several new Canadian pieces, public concerts, special guests and a great trade show!
This symposium also offers a Keyboard Kamp for students aged 7-21 that offers master classes in a wide range of topics. If the event is held in Ontario next year I hope some of my own students will be able to attend this fabulous camp.
