This being the first post on my new blog, it seems fitting to share with you the exciting start of summer. On June 13 the studio-- along with the students of my friend and colleague Irene Enns-- presented a Junior/Intermediate Piano Recital to finish off the term. This recital reflected all the hard work and commitment each student demonstrated this year, and besides my living room being a tad crowded I think everyone enjoyed themselves!
|Everyone signed their name.|
We had ten students ranging in age from five to fifteen perform solos and a few duets. We featured works as early as J.S. Bach as well as several contemporary composers; three of the works showcased local composer and ORMTA member Debra Wanless.
After the performances we concluded the evening with some pictures, music-themed cookies and certificates of achievement. Well done everyone! I look forward to working with you toward our next recital for Canada Music Week in November. Take a peek at a few videos from this recital here.
